Sexuality, Fertility, and Intimacy after a Spinal Cord Injury
Description: A very common question people wonder after sustaining a spinal cord injury (SCI) is what that will mean for their sex life or their fertility. While sexual dysfunction is a common problem after sustaining an SCI, it is important that the rehabilitation professional is knowledgeable about both physical limitations and what is possible. This webinar will discuss anatomy and physiology of sexual function and the effect of SCI, treatment options available and data from the National Database on marriage.
Objectives: Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify physiological effect of spinal cord injury on sexual functions.
- Identify Options Available to Improve and Maximize Sexual Function.
- Recognize statistics from national database and other studies on outcomes of SCI including those on marriage and relationships around spinal cord injury.
