DESCRIPTION
This webinar provides a comprehensive review of rehabilitation strategies for patients undergoing organ transplantation. Designed for novice clinicians, the webinar emphasizes evidence-based practices to optimize patient outcomes across all levels of care. Topics will include functional prognosis, selection and interpretation of outcome measures, physiological changes affecting patient presentation and rehabilitation participation, durable medical equipment prescription and exercise program development. Perspectives from several clinical perspectives will be integrated to highlight the interdisciplinary approach necessary for effective rehabilitation. Participants will leave with practical, research-driven strategies to support patients through the rehabilitation of individuals undergoing organ transplantation. 

LEARNER OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:  

1. Identify body systems, physical functions and activities affected by organ transplantation and potential impacts on the rehabilitation course.
2. Describe the use of specific assessments/outcome measures for this population, including how results of assessments/outcome measures influence goal-writing and plan of care development in rehabilitation. 
3. Identify key techniques in post-transplant care, including edema management, pain management and dietary considerations.
4. Define the decision-making process for appropriate durable medical equipment (DME) prescription.
5. Prescribe exercise programs for individuals in post-transplantation rehabilitation to facilitate return to functional independence. 
   

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION
Participants will be present during the live webinar in its entirety and complete an attendance verification and feedback survey in the Academy Learning Portal within one month of the live air date.
