DESCRIPTION
This webinar will explore the use of aquatic therapy for adult and pediatric individuals with spinal cord injury, from determining who is appropriate for the pool to evaluation and treatment progression. Participants will review precautions and clinical considerations, aquatic assessment and practical interventions for mobility, strength, balance, gait, endurance and functional activity. Current evidence and clinical examples will be used to guide treatment selection and progression for individuals with different levels of injury and functional abilities.

LEARNER OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:  

  1. Identify appropriate candidates for aquatic therapy following spinal cord injury, including relevant precautions, contraindications and safety considerations.
  2. Apply the properties of water and findings from an aquatic assessment to guide treatment selection for individuals with spinal cord injury.
  3. Describe targets of aquatic intervention to aid in return to functional activity based on an individual's presentation and goals. 

SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION
Participants will be present during the live webinar in its entirety and complete an attendance verification and feedback survey in the Academy Learning Portal within one month of the live air date.
