DESCRIPTION
This webinar provides foundational content regarding health equity, health literacy, implicit bias and social determinants of health for rehabilitation professionals. This webinar will use evidence to support participants’ awareness and understanding of the functional implications that health disparities may have on patients across the spectrum of health care settings. Participants will learn key concepts for developing and progressing rehabilitation plans of care with a focus on health equity.

LEARNER OUTCOMES
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:  

  1. Define key terminology related to health equity, health literacy, implicit bias and social determinants of health.
  2. Describe how health disparities can impact patient outcomes in rehabilitation.
  3. Describe three ways in which regional health disparity data can inform culturally aware strategies in health care.
  4. Develop specific strategies to enhance culturally aware rehabilitation care through discussion of patient case examples.

Participants will watch the on-demand recording in its entirety and complete an assessment and feedback module in the Academy Learning Portal. You will have three months from the date of purchase to complete and review the course material. You will receive a reminder email two weeks before the expiration date.
