Visual Impairments in Pediatrics, Part One: Using Evidence to Guide Your Assessment
Description: This webinar will introduce basic anatomy and development of the visual system to guide an introductory pediatric visual evaluation. Learners will review adaptations and modifications that can be used while administering the visual assessment that accommodate for different ages and communication styles. During the course, learners will review a structure for administering a basic visual assessment with young children.
Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the basics of pediatric visual development and anatomy
- Complete a basic pediatric vision screen using handouts and materials introduced within the course
- Identify ways to modify vision assessments to a pediatric population and incorporate into play
