Ethics and Informed Consent of the Pediatric Population

Ethics & Informed Consent of the Pediatric Population

Description: What is informed consent? We will define the principles of informed consent and understand why it is crucial to autonomous decision making. We will review language and communication to ensure the voluntary nature of participation and why that is critical. We will breakdown the ethical and legal implications and how informed consent changes in the pediatric population. Communication between a provider or clinician and a patient is a major pillar in informed consent.
