Description: This webinar provides participants with an overview of executive function (EF) in children and the ability to identify characteristics of children with executive functioning difficulties. Content includes examples of typical and atypical executive functioning, as well as strategies for therapists to improve executive functioning using an interdisciplinary approach to treatment planning.
Objectives: Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Define executive functioning and where these processes occur in the brain
- Outline the development of EF skills
- Explain importance of EF in daily activities
- Describe basic evaluation procedures for child with EF limitations
- Identify appropriate EF treatment strategies in the pediatric outpatient setting
