Functional Cognition in Parkinson's Disease
Description: Functional Cognition in Parkinson's Disease: Assessment & Intervention - Parkinson's Disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disease with mild cognitive deficits being detected in the earliest stages of PD. Cognitive dysfunction for a person with PD can significantly limit participation in instrumental activities of daily living (IADL), reduce quality of life and reduce participation in leisure and social activities. Because of its negative effect on function and quality of life, mild cognitive impairment in PD is considered a prime target for intervention development. This webinar will describe functional cognitive issues experienced by people with (PD) and discuss assessment and intervention approaches to understand and support functional cognition among clients with PD. Research and evidence-based practice will be integrated throughout.
